Had A Good Laugh

Today we went to Bear River to hang out. A little small river that had some snow cover parts. We let the dog loose to run around and Kat had fun throughing rocks in the river. Saw some paw prints of some animal but not sure what it was. Shawn took a small walk to look under the bridge and saw what someone wrote there. Have a look at one of the pics. So far the people we told had a god laugh.

Some of the other pics that I took was road signs for fun. I still can't get over on how beautiful this Province really is.

Enjoy this pics.

Potties, Naps, Loose teeth

Well my son has been potty training what seems like forever (3-4weeks). Its now become a habit of bringing him to the bathroom every couple of hours and when he asks. He has been doing really well going on the potty at home and in public places or peeing on the snowbank when worse comes to worse and there is no potty.

As well at the same time of doing potty training he has stopped taking his naps. No matter how long he slept for his nap he would be up that much longer at night before falling asleep. If I made sure his naps were shorter when we got him up he would be very cranky. If we put him to bed later he would wake up earlier in the morning and be cranky all day long. So we took out the naps and he does quite well and falls fast asleep when he goes to bed at 730PM and sleeps his full 12hours if not more but not much more.

I had no clue that dogs can loose their baby teeth or even had baby teeth. I notice today that Sandy our dog was missing a tooth and she had two other teeth that were bleeding a bit and loose. So I looked on the net and its really true. Dogs loose their teeth just like kids do and grow their big teeth in. With some breeds of dogs they can have up to four sets of teeth. Interesting.

As for the rest of our lives, we are still enjoying and still don't believe that we have a truck that is ours. If you go to my previous post I have all the info there. I still love it here and being so remote doesn't bother me one bit. No matter how many times I look at the mountains day or night, doesn't matter on the weather, it is just plain breath taking and sometimes overwhelming from all the beauty.

New Truck, my son Skidoing, and other stuff.

Yes just as my title says we got a new truck. New not use or preowned NEW. A 2010 Dodge Ram 1500 ST Quad Cab, 4x4, Hemi, SIRIUS™ Satellite Radio free for year, AC, Trailer Sway Control, Brake Assist, Hill Start Assist, CD/MP3 radio with voice command, and other little things we added on to the truck. The price you ask, well you will never get that out of me, no way never. For me and my husband to know. My only problem now is to get use to having a wider ass and knowing how big I am and know I don't need more road just because I am bigger.

Once again my title doesnt lie. We took our son to a winter Birthday party and the smaller kids where driving a kid size Skido. Kat went on and Daddy walked beside him and he really drove the Skido all by himself. So proud of my little guy.

Here are some pics of Hyder Alaska USA.

My little man and my dog

Well it has been raining here for what seems to feel like two weeks straight. Thats right, I said rain. Not snow, Rain.

So this has made the roads nice slippery and wonderful to drive on.

Here are a few pics of the little guy and my dog.

Just yesterday we were at a birthday party and my little guy was running around and slipped and hit his front tooth on a chair with metal rims around the chair. So now he has a sore tooth that is also loose.
He got up in the middle of the night crying saying "boboo ouch". I am going to bring him to the doctor today to just make sure all is well.

Small Towns, Quite Places

Some people say they have been or love to be in a quite town. But what does that really mean, 'a quite town'? Less cars, less stores, less people, less things happening, less things to go to.

I don't think anyone can say they have been to or love a small town until they actually been to a town that only has less than 350 people have hardly anything in the town except one church, a gas station, two food stores, a bar, a liquor store, a one hotel that is also a restaurant that are only things open during the winter months from Oct - June ( and with a with more store no more than 5) open for the summer months June - Oct. Or less than this.

I don't think any can say they have been to or love a small town until they have walked the streets in the early evening around 530pm and it's dark outside and no one else is outside walking and the only thing you can hear his the wind or distant birds or sometimes even the wolves howling, and or the complete silence of the night and see stars every night and on a clear night seeing the snow covered mountains still.

I always thought where my grandparents had their nice home in Norwood that was a small town until I moved here to Stewart. I love every bit of it and I don't want to move from here. I want to live here when I am an old lady growing old with my husband.
One neat thing living here is that we are two minutes aways from Hyder Alaska which there is only one way in and one way out of that US state. The funnier thing of that is that its more than half less the size of Stewart BC. The thing that tops it the most is that we only live 2minutes away from there and once you cross over by car you are once again in a different time zone by one hour less than Stewart. Stewart is on Pacific time which is 3hours behind Eastern time and Alaska is 4hours behind Eastern time. But no one in Hyder follows that time just he post office.
