Stewart Flood 2011

The area of the road damage. Where you see the road broken all of these pictures are of the same spot. The bridge pictures are of the same bridge.

We had over 200mm of rain (10-15inches) from the night of Sept 5th to Sept 8th (4days). People who have lived in Stewart all their lives have not seen this much rain ever.

I had left the morning of the 6th and got stuck in Terrace, Luckly I was able to get home on the 9th by an RCMP plane due to that there was room. An RCMP officer and one of my husbands coworkers were trapped in Terrace as well and I know them both well,
with my husband having proper clearance I have the same clearance to get on the Plane.

They had closed of the roads and we are not sure as when they will open again. They hope for Sept 16th and some say five weeks, ummmmm but only time will tell.

The picture with the plane and the mountain, I do believe I came over that mountain. We flew over the mountains and glaciers.
