My son has been to the dentist before when he was 18months old for a quick check up because I got worried that a tooth was not coming out right. At that appointment my son never cried or let out a peep. He let the dentist look at his teeth, count them and use the instruments they use.
This was his first real visit with a check up, exam of his teeth, cleaning of teeth, and getting one and half teeth filled in because he has really big caps and the dentist wanted to prevent him from getting cavities.
So far no cavities. My son did really well. No crying, no screaming, No complaining. He seemed to have a blast. Mind you it probably did help that there was a nice big flat screen TV with cartoons playing that also played in a part of helping him to stay calm but the dentist said that he may get 1-10 children that won't cry. SO I am proud of my son for being that one child who doesn't cry.

Dentists are scary!! i still get scared about going to the dentist!! i am serious about that last comment, i avoid dentists like the plague cause i get so scared, but then i have other 'issues' that make it hard for me to sit quietly in that chair while horrible things are done to my teeth!!!!
i am so glad for you and your son that all went well with his first 'real' visit with that villian called 'The dentist'
Hugsssss,
