Not Much

Not much is happening. I have a really good friend with me now until May 4 and than she goes back to Ontario.

I had the chance of driving to Terrace all by myself. I saw three black bears on the way and one black bear coming home. It was pretty neat. None of these pics are mine.

All three were sitting near the edge of the road eating. When they saw me coming they ran back into the woods.

Life without Daddy

Well we are more than half way there. Daddy has now been gone for three weeks for training for his job. He now has one week left and will be home this Sunday.

Life has been interesting with him. As well very full of trails.

I haven't been posting as I hadn't got the chance to grab my camera to take photos and take some pics. I wish I had cause it is really starting to be really beautiful up here in Stewart BC.

The trees are starting to bloom and my son and I have planting flowers. Don't ask the types I just know that one of them are Sun Flowers.

I can't wait for them to start growing to replant them in an area that my son could take over and look after them. Hopefully he won't over water them too much.

We have been keeping busy. Going outside lots, art work, going to activities and my son to his play groups that he has so far during the school year four days a week.

Though on Tuesday I get to go and pick up a really good friend of mine who is coming for a visit. I can't wait to see her and have another adult around to talk to and hand out with. These last two weeks and been sometimes more challenging than I would of like them to be but I wouldn't have given them up either for the little sweet things my son did as well.

Those little hugs for no reason, a little smile, a pat on the back, or his giggles which are very contagious.

My Dog and Bugs

I couldn't help but take the photo of my dog lying next to the door. She looked so cute in the way she was lying down with her paw up in front.

As for the creepy crawlies, My son found some bugs in his pool and I took them to his pic nic table to have a closer look at them through a magnify glass. That is actually how I took the pictures of them.

Moon Man

As I was getting my little man dressed today, he saw his underwear which had Spider Man logo on it, and he pointed at this and called it "Moon Man". When I tried to correct him, he made it very clear that it was "Moon Man" by saying it really loud many times.

Canadian Geese

Right across the street there are always lots of Canadian Geese that sit around and eat the grass. They come to this area because it has been abandon. It is on a property that use to be a school. That is a private school for some church.

Easter Day

Happy Easter to everyone. Since Last year I have waited patiently for this Easter to come as my son didn't really get the idea of what to do
in "looking for the hiding eggs". This year he got more excited as he saw his own Easter bucket and the chocolate
eggs on the floor leading him to his non chocolate gifts that he got this Easter. But next year I will be able to hid them all over the house and outside and he will truly understand that he has to go hunt for them.

Yes, I said gifts. You see we hardly ever get him new toys or things to play with whe
n we go into town and do shopping. The only time he gets new things is on his birthday, Christmas, or Easter. Yes the odd time he will get a new book or paint or crayons but these are things he uses all the time.

So for Easter he got a 'Blue's Clues' DVD, a kids tough camera that is waterproof and the case to for it(waterproof when a drink is spilled on it) since he loves to take my $300 waterproof camera and tries to take pictures, a nice train set (as you can see from the pic) with an added school bus, a Leapfrog Leapster held hand game system and the case for it and one game that he learns how to write and draw(as he likes to play with my Nintendo WII), two books (one Blue's Clues and one by Sandra Boynton (one of my favorite kids author) and a remote control car that can flip over and still drive. As well tons of Easter eggs.

But we are also telling him about why we truly celebrate Easter as Jesus Christ rose from the dead during this special occasion.

April Fools Day

Since posting an April Fools joke here is not going to work since most people know what day it is, I thought I would post how April Fools came to be. So enjoy and April fools day to everyone.

"History of April Fool's Day

Many of the ancient cultures such as Romans and Hindus and the medieval Europeans used to celebrate New Year's Day on sometime near the vernal equinox that could range from March 20th to April 5th. In the Julian calendar, April 1st was designated as the New Year's Day and was so celebrated till 1582, when Pope Gregory XIII ordered the adoption of the new Gregorian Calendar, which specified January 1st as the New Year's Day.

However, due to slow communications and resistance of people to change their traditions, many people continued to celebrate New Year's Day as before on 1st of April. Scottish only adopted the new calendar in 1660, Germans, Danish and Norwegians in 1700 and English in 1752. Many French resisted the change and neoiites dubbed them as fools and played pranks on them. They started sending them on 'fool's errands', sent them the fake invitations for parties and tricked them into believing something false. The victims were called 'Poisson d'Avril' or 'April Fish' as the naïve fish gets caught easily and children would often tag of a fish's picture on someone's back.

Thus, April Fool's Day originated and was popularly celebrated in England and in the American colonies. It evolved and was caught on quickly throughout the world to trick each other and have fun. Even today, people play pranks on each other on this day in the memory of those tradition-obsessed 'fools'. Perhaps the best illustration of the April Fool's Pranks of the 19th century is the Thomas Nast's illustration, originally published in the April 2, 1864 issue of Harper's Weekly. It highlights the various pranks that were popularly played at the time with its caption as 'All Fool's Day'. " Taken fromt he website http://www.thefoolsday.com/april-fool-history.html
